Highway 407 was extended east to Highway 35/115 in December 2019. From there Highway 115 runs straight into Peterborough, and Highway 7 brings you to Burnham Line and the gate — highway for nearly the whole run, and none of it the 401. Four minutes to Peterborough, about ninety to the GTA.
Aura Village lies within the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority’s regulated area. An environmental impact study, a servicing design and a grading plan were all prepared and submitted before the plan could advance. The plan has draft approval, and about 24 of the 42.77 acres are designated environmentally protected — held in common by all 27 owners, and never developable. That is why there are twenty-seven lots here rather than a hundred.
Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park stands at 846 Highway 7 in Otonabee-South Monaghan — the same township and the same highway — thirty-nine hectares of maple, beech, elm and hemlock that Ontario Parks describes as among the oldest stands in the province.
